2001 - A New Beginning

George W. Bush is the president for the New Millenium. Any president's ability is measured by his accomplishments during his first 100 days. Clinton didn't leave him much to top, so anything would look good in comparison. So let's look at his start. First of all, he gave a fabulous inaugural speech. Next, he is being characterized as being punctual. That's a good thing. He cut off funding for overseas abortion counseling and clinics, and he's pushing forward a tax cut plan and an education bill. On education, he has Senator Kennedy agreeing with him on much of the bill. That alone is an accomplishment. On the tax cut part, he can definitely get the death tax and the marriage penalty tax repealed. The big question will be whether or not he can get his large tax reduction passed. Everything considered, for a man that was supposed to be considered not qualified for the job, he sure is moving right along. Whether or not you agree with his policies, you have to admit he is showing himself to be a hard worker and a man of his word.
